Micro Case Studies
Unlock the Hidden Gold: Transform What You Already Have into Client-Winning Stories.
If you're trying to build case studies but don’t have six months to wait on client approvals and collaboration, you can use the same remix mindset. I call them micro case studies.
If you've got client testimonials lying around, you can turn them into quick-hit stories that show a before, action, and after. Three sentences. That's it.
Here's the formula: Before > Action > After
When [CLIENT] came to me, they were struggling with [THEIR PROBLEM]. I [WHAT I DID]. As a result, [THE OUTCOME].
Example: "When Dana approached me, her messaging was all over the place and not connecting with her ideal clients. I helped her clarify her story and focus her content on key brand themes. Within a few weeks, she started seeing engagement and inquiries increase—and felt excited to show up online again."
How to Create Your Own Micro Case Studies:
- Find a testimonial that includes (or hints at) a challenge, a result, or a solution.
- Use the formula to shape a short story from it.
- Add the original testimonial underneath to show it's real.
Drop it in an email, a social post, a sales page—wherever you want to show what you do and how it works. You can also stack multiple micro case studies on your website to fill out your case study page.
